Marine, planktonic ciliates. A single left marginal cirrus and delicate right caudal cirri may be present. The dorsal argyrome has been described only in Euplotidium arenarium (Magagnini & Nobili, 1964). Morphogenesis of frontoventral cirri resembles that in other euplotids [Hill, B.F. 1980.
