Small oval ciliate dorso-ventrally flattened so that it has an overall discoid shape. Oral aperture in the posterior body half comprising 2 C-shaped lips around which the undulating membrane is in constant motion. The pellicle is rigid with 8 dorsal ridges. Often found with decomposing marsh plants. Description based on single description of single species from Romania (Vuxanovici, 1960).
