Elongate cylindrical body, tapering slightly anteriorly and curved somewhat to the right. Medium size ciliates (150-200 um long). Oral aperture in the anterior body quarter in the form of a right-angled triangle with its hypotenuse coaxial with the body. An undulating membrane on the anterior side of the triangular aperture contains three sigmoidally shaped membranelles. The body is covered with about 70 rows of uniform cilia. Contractile vacuole equatorially located in a small depression on the animal's right side. Macronucleus filiform with 5 or 6 small spherical micronuclei.

Descriptions

Cylindrical; anterior end slightly attenuated and curved, posterior end rounded; the organism grows well on the gut of Chironomus larvae in laboratory. (ref. ID; 1618)
