1.Purpose of TPM
The Tripartite Presidents Meeting (TPM) between Japan, Korea and China was first convened in 2004 as a means to further environmental research, with one of the three countries (Japan-China-Korea) playing host to TPM on respective years. This year, the ninth TPM will be held in Pyeongchang, Korea.
At TPM itself, the Presidents, and affiliated researchers, of the three leading institutions in their respective countries - the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES - Japan); the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER - Korea); and the Chinese Research Academy for Environmental Sciences (CRAES – China) – will carry out focused discussions aimed at furthering environmental research in the Asian region, including possibilities for research collaboration.
