Brief Description of Research
To address Japan's declining birthrate, aging population, and the increasing frequency of natural disasters, the maintenance and renewal of utility poles are crucial. In my previous research, I analyzed the placement of utility poles and their social impact in 39 municipalities across the Kanto region using data from TEPCO Town Planning Co., Ltd. I examined the feasibility of implementing underground utility policies and highlighted the regional differences in utility pole density as well as the burden in depopulated areas.

Additionally, through ArcGIS analysis, I confirmed that over 90% of utility poles are located within 5 meters of roads, with particularly high pole densities along emergency transportation routes. Furthermore, by employing a negative binomial distribution model, I explained the distribution of utility poles in each city, showing regional differences in pole distribution through proximity assessments and landscape index analysis. I also proposed an approach that integrates the concentric zone model with the facility density model, considering the balance of supply and demand. This research aims to provide new perspectives on the efficient placement of utility poles, contributing to the improvement of urban planning.

Currently, I am focusing on the theory and empirical study of energy management in a depopulating society, particularly researching off-grid power systems in rural areas.
