International Forum on Sustainable Future in Asia NIES International Forum - Converting Aspirations to Actions - (Closed)
National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) will organize “International Forum on Sustainable Future in Asia - Converting Aspirations to Actions -” jointly with University of Tokyo and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on January 27-28, 2016 in Thailand.
The forum will explore four pressing environmental issues in the Asian region in order to elucidate the current efforts of researchers and policy-makers in the Asian countries, and understand the momentum in congruence with the targets under the SDGs and the Paris Agreement. The four sustainability challenges highlighted within the broader theme are; namely, Low Carbon Societies, Waste Management and Recycling, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Service and Environmental Monitoring. Experts from NIES, AIT and University of Tokyo along with expert policy makers and subject experts will deliver presentations and engage in discussions on the aforementioned themes.
