This dataset is a bias-corrected climate scenario with a grid-spacing of 1-km over Japan based on dynamical downscaling product with the grid interval of 2km NHRCM02. NHRCM02 was calculated in the framework of SOUSEI program (Murata et al. 2017). The observed sea surface temperature (SST) was given to the historical experiment (SPA) and four SST pattern were derived from the CMIP5 experiments and given to the future experiment (SFA) with the emission scenario of RCP8.5. Dataset cover the 20-year periods 1981-2000 for SPA and 2077-2096 for SFA, respectively.
The bias correction method CDFDM, a nonparametric method developed by Iizumi et al. (2010; 2011; 2012; 2014; 2017), was modified for monthly application in this study. We used Agro-Meteorological Grid Square Data (Ohno et al. 2016) as the reference data of bias correction. Daily data are currently available for 8 variables (daily minimum, maximum, and average temperature, precipitation, total solar radiation, downward longwave radiation, wind speed, and relative humidity).

Calculation method
Bias correction using modified CDFDM method was applied. The CDF for the calibration period was conducted in each month. Daily values from 1981 to 2000 were used for both the model and observations as the reference period to detect model biases. Agro-Meteorological Grid Square Data (Ohno et al. 2016) was used as a reference data. Although the original NHRCM data was conducted by yearly time-slice experiment covering the period from September to the end of August of the following year, the corrected data were developed for January through December. Linear trend was preserved for the daily mean, max, and minimum temperature and downward longwave radiation.
