For Cu2+, Cd2+, Zn2+, and Cr6+ the concentration in the medium on the first day was 5 ug/mL with an increase of 5 ug/mL Cu2+ every day for 44 days for Cu2+ and Cd2+, 50 days for Zn2+, and 52 days for Cr6+. For treatment with Pb2+ the concentration in the medium on the first day was 10 ug/mL with an increase of 10 ug/mL Pb2+ every day for 55 days.

Toxicants

Sheep dip formulations 1) OP, Ectomort (Young's Animal Health, UK) containing 8% propetamphos as the active ingredient, 2) SP, Bayticol (Bayer, Germany) containing 6% flumethrin as the active ingredient.

Test design/concentrations

96-well microtitre plates, concentrations ranging from 0.00001% to 1% (dip formulation:total volume). Temperature 20 degrees C.

Measurements/observations

Viability by phase contrast inverted microscopy.

Evaluations

Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC).
