Some 80 species and subspecies of shelled amoebas were found in the periphyton on aquatic macrophytes of the Dnieper reservoirs. Three faunal complexes are distinguished and their biotope associations identified. They are grouped into types associated with particular trophic conditions in the littoral zone. The dynamics of the testacean fauna in the periphyton is analyzed and is found to involve several stages.
