Continuous cultivation of Tetrahymena pyriformis under conditions of a two-stage chemostat was used to determine parameters of nutrition and respiration of this protozoa. In particular, formulas are derived on the dependence of coefficients of the use of the consumed and assimilated food for growth on the value of the specific growth rate of a hyperbolic character.
