Notes

We studied the composition of certain aquatic invertebrates (rotifers, Moina) raised in flowing water on different food (Chlorella, yeat and mixtures). A high content of protein (50 to 60 percent), essential amino acids (31 to 38 percent) and cellulose (0.4 to 0.6 percent) are reported for the studied invertebrates. The data indicate that Moina and rotifers could be of value for feeding fish larvae, and their protein could be nutritious.
