A study of testacea taxocenoses on the banks of the Seversky Donets-Donbas canal revealed 45 species and varieties. Maximum biomass (3.3 g/m2) is observed on the ooze-covered banks overgrown by microphytes, minimum one (0.0001 g/m2) - on concrete walls of locks washed by a strong current.
