A description of the sessile form, the swarmer and the lorica of a new folliculinid, Eufolliculina uhligi n. sp., is provided. All data presented are based on cultured specimens either in natural seawater or in artificial seawater medium. Comparison is made with other species which have been assigned to the genus Eufolliculina. The taxonomic histories of the various organisms previously associated with the genus are reviewed, and the genus is redefined to include only two species, recognized as E. moebiusi (declared as the type species) and E. uhligi n. sp.
