A comparative study between standard Difco products routinely used for cultivation of Tetrahymena pyriformis and basis products directly available on the french market, was performed on a multicriteria basis. The results enabled to select the most significant criteria for testing the products and to choice one peptone which represents a very good alternative for Proteose Peptone Difco and satisfies various needs in research with Tetrahymena.
