Notes

The detailed structure and elemental composition of the shell of the marine testate amoeba, Alepiella tricornuta, has been studied. It is composed of both calcareous and aluminosilicate particles arranged in a single layer on a basal organic matrix. A comparison is made between the elemental analysis of Alepiella and some marine agglutinate foraminifera.
