Notes

Buccal infraciliature of Woodruffia metabolica is constituted: 1) by a right oral paroral composed of inverted paired kinetosomes, 2) and by adoral organells composed of 2 rows of 4-6 kinetosomes. Cortical ultrastructure is very similar to the Colpoda with particular development of the posterior transverse ribbon which extends to the left and posteriad, in the ridges. Stomatogenesis is semi-autonomous. Morphologies, ultrastructures and stomatogenesis of Colpoda, Tillina, Woodruffia, Platyophrya are compared. Adoral organells of Woodruffia, Platyophrya and homologous to the left oral field of Colpoda, Tillina, and the inverted paroral of Woodruffia, Platyophrya is homologous to the right oral field of Colpoda, Tillina, Genus Kuklikophrya, Rostrophrya, Puytoraciella described by Nijne (1978) and Bryophrya are considerated. This group (Colpodidea) would be placed between Vestibulifera and Hypostomata. A new classification is proposed with 3 sub-orders: Platyophryina (fam. Platyophryidae, Woodrufiidae), Bryophryina, Colpodina (Colpodidae).
