Nielsen & Christensen have compiled the taxonomical literature of Enchytraeidae almost completely up to 1959. In the following years many smaller works appeared. With the growing number of publications it becomes more and more difficult to survey the current status of described taxa. The compilation given here is an attempt to summarize completely the bibliography and to list the species newly described in the past 25 years. The taxa are arranged in the initial classification of the authors. References to nomenclatural changes are given in brackets. No evaluation of synonymy, generic position, or completeness of description is intended. The list contains 233 species, 113 references and 54 addresses of authors. It is our aim to update the list at regular intervals so that is may serve as a reliable reference in the future.
