Worms were measured and their biovolumes estimated. Measurements show that the biovolume (V) of Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri was significantly correlated with the diameter of the segment XI(d(XI)):V=13.553d(XI)E2.987 (r2=0.92). Production was estimated for L. hoffmeisteri and for a population of Tubificidae with hair setae where Potamothrix heuscheri dominated, using the "Hynes method" reviewed by Menzie (1980). The P/B ratios of L. hoffmeisteri and Tubificidae with hair setae were 4.9 and 5.4.
