Notes

Reticulamoeba minor n. sp. comes from the littoral zone of Alanya (Turkish Riviera). Like Reticulamoeba gemmipara (Grell, 1994), it could be cultivated with the pennate diatom Amphiprora sp. as food organism. Reticulamoeba minor n. sp. is smaller than the type species of the genus and multiplies by binary fission. Unequal division leads to a zoospore. The artefactual appearance of the reticulopodia after Parducz' fixation is discussed on the basis of the function.
