Eleven silica-scales bearing chrysomonads from flooded basalt quarry were found; 8 species are given from Czechoslovakia for the first time. Three species, e.g. Paraphysomas erinacea sp. nov., P. pileata sp. nov., and Spiniferomonas pectinata sp. nov. were described. Dominancy in phytoplankton communities during investigated period was noticed and discussed.
