Notes

13 species of cristidiscoidid amoebae were collected from brackish and fresh waters in Sweden and The Netherlands. Two new species are described, 5 species are re-diagnosed, and observations on several previously described species are reported. Cristidiscoidid amoebae are classified now in 3 genera within the family Pompholyxophryidae. The genus Pinaciophora is preserved for all cristidiscoidid amoebae with discoid, perforated plate-scales and no spine-scales. Species with both plate- and spine-scales are transferred to the genus Rabdiophrys. At least 2 Pompholyxophrys species are shown to have internal struts in their scales. Keys to genera and species of cristidiscoidid amoebae are presented.
