Notes

The present paper deals with studies on the morphology, infraciliature, silverline system and the morphogenesis of the fresh-water scuticociliate Uronema nigricans. The characteristics of several known species of the genus are biometrically tabled. In the light of the development of its infraciliature and nuclei. 11 morphogenetic stages are described. The buccal ontogeny of U. nigricans can be expressed as follows: for the proter: PM - PM, Sc; for the opisthe: PM - PM, M1, M2, Sc; Sc - M3. The results demonstrate that the stomatogenesis of this species (genus) is very similar to that of Parauronema and Philasterides. Based on the morphogenetic features some scuticociliates are discussed. According to that, a new family, Paralembidae nov. fam. is established.
