The ultrastructure of Chlamydomonas bullosa Butcher is described with special reference to the papilla and cell wall. Comparisons are made with other species of the genus. C. bullosa has an inner granular layer in the cell wall region, which is an extension of the cytoplasm. It has a selliform papilla.
