Notes

The author relates some observations on the characteristic of the biotope and the trophic relations of A. intermedia, a rare but phylogenetically interesting Bdelloid Rotifer. The distribution of this species seem to be limited to small astatic waters (rock-pools). Food organisms suitable for A. intermedia are essentialy small unicellular green algae and unicellular or filamentous blue-green algae.
