Brachionus durgae Dhanapathi (new synonyms: B. durgae isigakaensis Sudzuki, B. moronensis Kuczynski), a species formerly considered endemic to the Oriental region, is reported from Africa and South America for the first time. The species is recorded from localities in Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mali, Niger, and from Argentina and Venezuela. A brief redescription and emended diagnosis of the species are provided.
