Notes

The protozoan fauna was studied both qualitatively as well as quantitatively in mesotrophic Motijheel, and eutrophic Surajkund and Ranital for a period of two years. Twelve species were identified, which suggested that Motijheel and Surajkund have very similar species in comparison to Ranital. Whereas, species similarity percentage inferred that the abundance of Protozoa was similar to the extent of 38%. Indicator protozoan species of various trophic level have also been designated.
