Notes

Four series of plankton samples collected 1981 in Lago Camaleao, Central Amazonia, a lake with fluctuating water levels, were investigated for rotifers. 148 species were identified. The number of rotifers increase with the rising water. In February 33 and in July 138 taxa were found. Several identifications by former authors were revised (Brachionus urceolaris amazonica n. spp., Keratella nhamunda nov. nom., Lecane aspasia amazonica n. ssp.). New records for the Amazon region include Lecane stichaeoides, Mytilina unguipes, Testudinella greeni, Testudinella patina dendradena. Three new rotifers are described: Cephalodella paggia n. sp., Lecane (Monostyla) marchantaria and Lepadella minoruoides n. sp.
