Notes

The publication deals with the species of Ciliates found in the Roussenski Lom river (197 km) during the spring, summer and autumn of 1969/1970. 115 samples collected from twenty localities along the river and its affluents were studied. The seasonal dynamics of the established species and especially of those with a widespread distribution was investigated. The question of the influence of the river pollution on the fauna of Ciliates was also examined. The distribution of the Ciliates in different polluted water of the river was backed up with the data of ecological limits with respect to 15 hydrochemical indices which are compared with those given by Bick and Kunze (1971). In most cases the data coincide. These are some deviations in the values of the oxygen and ammonia dissolved in the water, of the temperature, pH and BSB5. Fig.1 is made on the basis of the data of the oxydation, giving a better possibility to follow the widespreadedness of Ciliates in the river and its affluents concering the pollution. From the 29 species of Ciliates established one is new for the fauna of Bulgaria.
