Notes

The suitable conditions for growth of the protozoa, which were isolated from the seawater of coastal regions, were examined. The protozoa was composed of 4 species of ciliates, Trichopelmidae, Saprophilus sp., Uronema sp. and Cyclidium sp. and 2 species of flagellates, Monas termo and Monas sp. Achromogenic bacteria, genera Vibrio and Acinetobacter were found to be suitable prey organisms for the bacterivorous protozoa. The highest values of maximum yield of these organisms were observed at the temperature ranging from 15 to 25 degrees C in the 60 and 100% seawater.
