Notes

This ciliate is characterized by an anterior sharpened end of body, with a non ciliated excentric apical cap, by absence of an argyrophil antapical open circle, by 2 pores of contractile vacuole that are located on 2nd and 3rd cinetie and never at their ends, by a buccal cavity in the 1/3 anterior of the body, by anterior M1 which is constituted, on the most part of this length, by a single row of cinetosomes, by M2 shorter than M1, M3 with 3-4 cinetosomes, a scuticus+UM. Probably that is a new species: durchoni of a new genus, quite near Paranophrys: Metanophrys. Stromatogenis is like Uronema: the anlagen for M3 and M2 (in part.?) arise from the scuticus; the anlagen for M2 (in part.?), M1, UM+scuticus arise from UM.
