From 180 mud samples collected in lake Balaton During two years (1966-1967), the occurrence of 37 Testacea species could be determined. The analysis of the mud samples as well as the occurring Testacea species indicate the eutrophic character of the lake, though in limnological sense it cannot be regarded as a << real lake >>.
