A first survey is given on the species composition and distribution of Testacea in some lakes, ponds and aerophilous Sphagnum-mosses of South-West Ireland. 114 species and varieties, belonging to 22 genera are listed. Some differences between the aquatic and aerophilous habitats are pointed out, and some remarks are made concerning the similarity between the different samples.
