Notes

The definition of the ecological structure of certain watercourses of the northern slopes of the North Appenines (Italy) was accomplished by means of the multivariate analysis (factorial analysis of the correspondences and minimum variance clustering) of ciliate populations. Samples representing the diverse biotopes were collected in 42 stations. Analysis of the various data has enabled the definition of both ecological relationships between the stations and cenotic affinities as well as delineating the biotypology of the watercourses in question.
