Without shell and flagellum, but with a pellicle. This genus has a rayed stage when suspended in water. Two species, of which one lives in fresh water. (ref. ID; 1923)

The genus Rugipes is rejected by Bovee (1971) and Page (1969), since the type-species is, in fact, a species of Thecamoeba. (ref. ID; 2197)

Descriptions

Broad anterior zone of clear protoplasm. Nucleus single, oval. 1 to 6 contractile vacuoles. Minute bluish granules and crystals. (ref. ID; 1923)
