Class Kinetofragminophora: Subclass Suctoria: Order Suctorida: Suborder Endogenina (ref. ID; 2013)
[ref. ID; 2013]
Body approximately spherical, without lorica but with thick pellicle, borne upon a stalk which is attached to freshwater crustaceans (such as Cyclops). There are 12-15 large tentacles which emerge from all over the body surface; these are wide, contractile, expansible at their distal ends and contain an internal canal. The tentacles are able to engulf large particles by a sucking action. Reproduction by internal budding, macronucleus oval.
