This data set contains turbulent flux of carbon deoxide (CO2) observed on a roof-top tower of Tokai University (52 m above ground) in Yoyogi (YYG; 35.66° N, 139.68° E), Tokyo, Japan. The YYG site is a residential area located near the central part of Tokyo. The main landcover around the site is characterized by residential buildings with a mean height of 9 m.

Data Set

Parameters
Turbulent flux of CO2
Observation period
From 2012/10/29 (ongoing)
Location
35.66°N, 139.68°E
Altitude
Elevation: 39 m
Sampling height: 52 m above ground
Measurement method
Turbulent fluctuation of 3D wind speed and CO2 concentration were measured at the tower height of 52 m at every 0.1 second. Insturuments are a sonic anemometer (WindMaster Pro; GILL, Lymington, UK) and an open path infrared gas analyzer (LI-7500; LI-COR, NE, USA).
Calculation method
CO2 flux for every 30-minute period was calculated by the eddy correlation method in EddyPro software(LI-COR) from raw 0.1 second data. Correction of WPL is taken in the software. These flux value is calculated by averaging the raw data in the 30 minutes period before the designated time; e.g. value at 10:00 represents time period from 09:30 to 10:00. Date and time are shown based on Japan standard time (UTC+9:00).
