Potentially: Predation and competition. This species was introduced to Lake Victoria, Africa, in 1950s, and become dominant (80% fish biomass) in 1980s. In addition, forest around Lake Victoria have been deforested for fuel for process of Nile perch meat to export. Native organism(s) affected: Native community, such as fishes, crustaceans, etc. |
