Sustainable Social Systems and Policy Research Program

In cooperation with the Center for Material Cycles and Waste Management Research, etc.

Focusing on socioeconomic activities that lie at the root of environmental issues, targeting Japan and the world, we are analyzing measures necessary for the creation of sustainable societies from the standpoint of production and consumption. We are also constructing models to study future environmental, social, and economic scenarios, and highlighting the steps that need to be taken by each of the main actors, from the overall society to households and individuals, toward the realization of sustainable societies.
