Brief Description of Research
He is contributing to the NIES Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite 'IBUKI' (GOSAT) project as a NIES Fellow, and continues consolidating research works related on GOSAT and collaborating with worldwide research groups on GOSAT issues.
Career
Researcher at Environmental Information Division, National Institute for Environmental Studies in 1981. Engaged in the projects of the ozone monitoring satellite sensors ILAS and ILAS-II during 1989 - 2005. He was in charge of the data retrieval algorithm development and managed the data processing facilities of ILAS and ILAS-II. From 2003, he was involved in the GOSAT project at NIES.
From April 2006, he was the chief of Satellite Remote Sensing Research Section, Center for Global Environmental Research, and was also the NIES GOSAT project leader. From April 2016, he is a NIES Fellow and is the NIES GOSAT project acting leader.
