Research Program on Risk Assessment
and Control of Environmental Chemicals
Outline of Program
We will study methodologies for risk assessment of chemicals which impact on human health and ecosystems, and will devise methods for the management of chemicals. We will also investigate methods for evaluating the toxicity of nanomaterials in order to establish the safety of these materials.
At the same time, we will promote research to establish strategic approaches to the control of chemicals, which integrate the consideration societal consensus building into assessment and management schemes, even under a high level of uncertainty of risk.
