Atmospheric Profiles and Total Columns of O3, HNO3, and HCl Measured by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR) at Antarctic Syowa Station in 2007

The present data set is vertical profile and total column of O3, HNO3, and HCl measured by Fourier Transform Infrared spectrometer (FTIR) installed at Antarctic Syowa Station (69.0S, 39.6E) in 2007 and analyzed by SFIT2 Version 3.92 program. The Bruker's IFS-120M FTIR was installed at Syowa Station in March 2007, and made sporadic observations in 2007, 2011, and 2016. Now, the FTIR was brought back to Japan. Since Syowa Station is located near the polar vortex edge region in winter, we have chances to measure both inside and outside the polar vortex air.

Measurement method
Solar infrared spectrum was measured by IFS-120M FTIR when the weather was clear. We measured solar spectrum with NDACC filters #1-#5 by InSb detector, and with NDACC filter #6 by MCT detector. The wavenumber resolution of the measurements were set to 0.0035 cm-1.
Calculation method
For the retrieval of O3, three micro-window regions in NDACC filter #6 MCT channel was used: 1002.578-1003.500, 1003.900-1004.400, and 1004.578-1005.000 cm-1. For the retrieval of HNO3, two micro-window regions in NDACC filter #6 MCT channel was used: 867.000-869.591 and 872.800-874.000 cm-1. For the retrieval of HCl, three micro-window regions in NDACC filter #3 InSb channel was used: 2727.730-2727.830, 2775.700-2775.800, and 2925.800-2926.000 cm-1. Monthly mean ozone sonde (0-30 km) and ILAS-II (30-100 km) data were used as a priori profiles for O3. Monthly averaged ILAS-II data was used as an a priori for HNO3. Monthly averaged HALOE data was used as an a priori for HCl.
