About UNEP-Infoterra
What's UNEP-Infoterra?
- UNEP-Infoterra, the Global
Environmental Information Exchange Network has been designed by the United
Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) to stimulate and support the exchange
of environmental information between partners. The system is operated
at the national level by national focal points. As of March 1999, 178
countries participated in UNEP-Infoterra and information sources registered
in UNEP-Infoterra numbered about 8,000.
INFOTERRA
NFP/JAPAN
- The Environmental
Information Center is designated as the UNEP-Infoterra National Focal Point
of Japan and is responsible for maintaining a database on the sources
of information in Japan, providing it to the UNEP-Infoterra Programme Activity
Centre and responding to requests for information. At present, 576 information
sources are registered in Japan.
