Selenium (Se) & selenium compounds

Selenium is a nonmetalic element found in a variety of chemical forms in both marine and freshwaters. Selenate (Se VI) and selenite (Se IV), the common inorganic forms in natural waters. Selenium is required in trace amounts by organisms ranging from bacteria to phytoplankton to mammals. (ref. ID; 1268)
