Notes

The cortex of Nassula is partical, independent of the cortex of Microthoracina and of Cyrtophorina. It has some characteristics of the cortex in Oligohymenophora. The ultrastructure of Nassula reveals the paroral organelle is composed of kinetosome arranged in dyad pattern. In the ciliary organelles, postciliary microtubular ribbon appears on anterior kinetosomes and on the kinetosomes of the right row of the organelle. Interrelationships within representatives of Colpodidea, Microthoracina, Nassulina, Oligohymenophora are discussed.
