Notes

A biometric study has been made on 91 individuals of the genus Euglypha observed through a scanning electron microscope and, in addition, factorial analyses has been made, on the one hand, between the measures defining the shell, the parietal plates and the buccal ones and, on the other hand, on measures defining only the buccal plates. The analyses evince that the characteristics of the buccal plates (size, shape) prove to be excellent discriminating data for the determination of species. The following species have been revealed by the analyses and described with new precise details on the buccal and parietal plates: Euglypha capsiosa, E. cristata, E. cristata f. decora, E. filifera, E. hyalina, E. rotunda v. minor, E. simplex and E. strigosa. Six other individuals have been described without being linked to known species.
