Notes

Ditylenchus filimus n. sp., found in mushroom compost from western Canada with D. valveus Thorne & Malek, 1968, is described and illustrated. Main differential characters of the new species are a stylet length of less than 10 um, narrow lateral field of four incisures, pyriform basal esophageal bulb without lobes or intestinal overlap, a posterior vulva at 83-85% of body length, short postuterine sac, and an attenuated tail ending in a filament. An emended description of D. valveus includes a stylet length of less than 10 µm in contrast to a reported 12 µm.
