Notes

A new genus, Dolichodera, is proposed to accommodate D. fluvialis, a new species of cyst-forming nematode from aquatic habitat. Cysts of Dolicodera lack a posterior protuberance and are closest to the genus Globodera but differ in shape (elongate-ovoid versus spherical in Globodera), presence of bullae in fenestral area (which are absent in Globodera), and longer tail in second stage larva (95-120 µm vs. 33-63 µm in Globodera). A key to genera of Heteroderidae is provided.
