Notes

Soil is a specific environment, affecting the protozoan cell morphology and their main by physiological functions. The number of adaptations are conductive to physiological activity of soil Protozoa under normal conditions of soil moisture. Adaptations of soil Testacids are considered in detail. Some morphological types of shells, characteristic of certain habitats, are distinguished. The specifity of protozoan species composition and population density can be used to ascertain the character of plant litter decomposition, the activity of microbiological processes, etc.
