Notes
The biocoenosis of the planktonic and the periphytonic rotifers was studied in the man-made Lake Selingue, Republic of Mali, West Africa. This seven years old impoundment reveals a continuous increase of species which coincides with the stabilization of physical and chemical parameters of water. At present 83 species are known out of which seven are new records for Africa (Aethiopis): Ascomorpha agilis Zacharias 1893, Collotheca campanulata longicaudata (Hudson, 1883), Hexarthra intermedia brasiliensis Hauer 1953, Lepadella benjamini Harring 1916, Lepadella minuta (Weber & Monet, 1918), Trichocerca cf. mollis Edmondson, 1936 and Dissotrocha hertzogi Hauer, 1939. First described are two species Asplanchna tropica n. sp. and Polyarthra leleki n. sp.
