Notes

A total of 325 species of flagellates, thecamoebae and ciliates have been identified at the "Station de Biologie de l'Universite de Montreal" Saint-Hippolyte (Terrebonne, Que.). Among them were two new genera of thecamoebae, a new species of Anisonema and probably new species of Frontonia, Spirostomum, Blepharisma, Strobilidium and Pithothorax. As a whole, the protozoan populations in Saint-Hippolyte are comparable to those found in Europe, in similar locations.
